Decks, stairs, and outdoor showers are the first things guests see and the first things to show wear at the beach. Salt spray, sand, and summer humidity create the perfect conditions for mildew and algae, especially on shaded boards and north-facing stairs.

For most rental homes, a pressure wash before the season starts and a second one mid-summer keeps things under control. Homes close to the ocean or on the sound may need more frequent attention.

Outdoor showers need their own care. Soap residue, sand, and standing water create slick, discolored floors and walls. Regular cleaning keeps them safe underfoot and pleasant to use after a beach day.

Don't forget the outdoor furniture. Chairs, tables, and cushions collect salt and mildew just like the deck. Cleaning them at the same time as the deck wash makes the whole outdoor space feel cared for.
